There has got to be a better way to secure our border. Our illustrious governor of Texas sent the state National Guard to help the border patrol, but they were issued only one bullet, which is to be carried in their shirt pocket, like Officer Barney Fife. Now we have Venuswealean gangs attacking our officers and guards with knives, broken bottles, and tire irons, and our boys can’t shoot back to protect themselves.
Problem solved: send in a troop of Texas Boy Scouts armed with Daisy pellet rifles. Those pellets may not kill the invaders, but damn, they hurt, and those Boy Scouts always save the day. Be Prepared!

They would have done better than what the sitting president did…nothing.

My grandson is 12 and has been in the scouts since he was 6. He shoots a 22 and a shotgun at scout camp. He would be a good candidate.

Seems like what the governor saves on bullets he is likely to have to pay out in medical and funeral bills. Never have accused the governor of logic.

Kinky Friedman had the best solution to Texasโs border problems, but no one listened. By the way, Kinky passed away last June. He would have made an excellent governor for Texas.ย

One of our many Texas Characters that will be greatly missed. I always thought of him as a Jewish J. Frank Dobie, but with a better since of humor.

He lived about 5 miles away & would occassionally see him around. Interestingly emough, I saw him & Ruth Buzzy together here once.

My father talked with him a few times when the Doughboys played in Austin. He knew about Kinky years before I did. I was following Little Jewford on Facebook for a while, but nothing from him lately. The Doughboys played some hotshot gathering in Austin way back in the 80s, and Kinky and Ann Richards were there. Dad said they could have been a comedy team: kept everyone laughing. Of course, the cocktails helped.

I seriously believe Texas Monthly should give you the coveted last page like Kinky had back in the day.

Well, as much as I think TM has morphed into an ultra-liberal rag, I would take it. Thanks for the nomination.
